Dee Ashley

Dee M. Ashley is a Georgia native born in Atlanta in 1989. He began writing poetry at the age of 13. He has been honing that skill ever since, evolving his poetry into poetic and reflective short stories. As a teenager he was a youth motivational speaker. This enabled him to fund his trip to England and France at the age of 14 with his nationally ranked high school orchestra at Duluth High School. He received honorable mention for his short film “Bent On Broken Dreams” in the Campus Movie Fest competition at The Art Institute of Atlanta. Dee M. Ashley’s poetry has been published in the books Stars in Our Hearts and Great Poets Across America: A Celebration of National Poetry Month. Focusing mostly on love, family and loss; he has created a collection of poetry that is to be published in his own book later this year. He has aspirations of becoming a major influence in the film industry as a writer and director.
