It was announced today that Jerry Sandusky, who was convicted of sex crimes nearly 4 months ago, will be sentenced for his actions on October 9th. Sandusky brought scandal and shame to Penn State, where he was an assistant football coach, when allegations arose that he had been molesting children entrusted to his care for over a decade while college officials turned a blind eye to his crimes. Back in June Sandusky was found guilty on 45 counts of sex abuse that involved ten young men, many of whom testified at his trial. Sandusky has been in prison since the trial and is expected to receive a life sentence for his crimes despite the fact that he still maintains his innocence. A hearing will commence at 9 am October 9th to determine whether Sandusky should be classified as a sexually violent predator, shortly after the determination Sandusky will receive his sentence.
