Minnesota Vikings fullback Jerome Felton was suspended 3 games by the NFL on Monday for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. Felton had a break out last season and made it to the Pro Bowl after helping the talented Adrian Peterson run for 2,097 yards and almost break the record. He’s eligible to return before the Vikings play in London on Sept. 29 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said in a statement, “We respect the league’s decision and Jerome understands it. Jerome is focused on returning to the playing field in Week 4 vs. Pittsburgh.” Felton agreed to a three-year, $7.5 million contract with the Vikings in the off-season and was already missing the rest of the preseason after undergoing an emergency appendectomy this month.
