Troubled Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has found himself in trouble with the law yet again. Pacman was charged with assault after police say he tried to attack a woman. Pacman pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday, one day after he was arrested and then released on his own recognizance. According to the police report, Pacman is accused of hitting the woman on June 5th shortly before midnight.
Peter Schaffer, Pacman’s agent, spoke with ESPN and told them that the 29-year-old Jones was approached by two drunk women who wanted to take a photo with the football star. When Jones turned down their request, one of the women proceeded to throw a bottle at his head and he in turn slapped her.
Jones wrote on his Twitter account Monday that he was protecting himself.
“Just got arrested for protecting myself, I will not let this break me or change what I have work so hard for,” Jones tweeted.
On Monday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN, “we’re aware of it and will review the facts at the appropriate time.”
